Altana is the network for trusted trade, building an AI-powered product platform for governments and businesses to keep trade flowing. As Engineering Manager, you will lead a team embedded with product and design, turning hypotheses into shipped products and owning hiring, growth, and performance.

Your success is measured by customer value, velocity, and the resilience of systems as output scales. You will partner with product, design, and security to deliver high-quality, end-to-end

Qualifications

• Real-world experience writing back-end or data-driven software in demanding environments.
• Hands-on engineering skills with production deployments to cloud environments.
• Experience leading a team with coaching, feedback, and hiring responsibilities.
• Track record of staying close to customers and delivering incremental releases from prototype to production.
• Experience running planning and delivery for a team that consistently meets commitments.
• Comfort owning operations including incidents, on-call, and system costs.

Responsibilities

• Build the team and help each person grow; manage performance end to end.
• Stay close to customers; join calls and observe top friction points.
• Define problems with product and design before choosing solutions; push back when not customer-backed.
• Maintain hands-on coding; understand architecture and tech debt; set quality standards.
• Build AI-native systems with safe, checked AI-assisted code before customers see it.
• Run planning processes; flag risks early; deliver cycle after cycle.
• Improve team velocity by identifying bottlenecks and reducing operational debt.
• Own operating runs; manage on-call and costs; coordinate with security.
