Job summary

Altana is hiring a senior engineering leader to build AI-powered platforms and data-driven services. You will collaborate with data scientists to deploy scalable APIs and workflows that power our AI-enabled product network.

The role requires driving technical excellence across a team of engineers and delivering iteratively from MVP to production. You will mentor engineers, set roadmaps, and align technical decisions with product goals, while owning end-to-end delivery of critical backend systems

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of real-world professional experience writing back end or data-driven software in demanding environments.
• Experience deploying production code and services to cloud-hosted environments.
• Proven ability delivering incremental releases from proof-of-concept to MVP to production.
• Self-starter with experience solving large, complex problems.
• Strong commitment to engineering excellence, clean code, and knowledge sharing.
• Experience taking over codebases and continuing feature development.
• Ability to prioritize and focus areas intentionally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading other engineers on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Ingest product requirements, define technical requirements, and design practical, iterative technology designs.
• Work with product manager to develop implementation plans against technical roadmaps.
• Maintain, develop, and deploy customer-facing workflows to support product architecture.
• Analyze and propose technical solutions to enhance product offerings.
• Automate, test, and deploy your own and your team’s work.
• Review code and technical designs, upholding high quality standards.
• Mentor developers and help them level up their skills.
• Ensure technical excellence of day-to-day work and alignment with roadmap.
• Drive technical decision-making and scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Identify gaps and create plans to address them.
• Serve as domain expert for portions of the product surface area.
• Collaborate with team leads and managers to stay focused on outcomes.
