Job summary

Altana, based in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead an engineering team building AI-powered product platforms. You will collaborate with product and design, engage directly with customers, and guide a small team to ship features that translate to real customer value.

You will own end-to-end delivery, from early conversations to telemetry after launch, while maintaining high engineering standards and strong communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying production code and services to cloud environments.
• Experience delivering incremental releases from proof-of-concept to MVP to production.
• Self-starter with experience handling large, complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Spend real time with customers and translate insights into product bets.
• Partner with product to decide what to build and run fast experiments.
• Take new product surfaces from 0 to 1: prototype, ship, and drive adoption.
• Build AI-native by default: leverage LLMs, agents, evals, retrieval, and modern AI tooling.
• Own end-to-end outcomes from initial conversation to telemetry six months later.
• Set the technical bar for the team with high quality and traceability to customer impact.
• Mentor engineers in customer-centric, hypothesis-driven development.
• Drive technical decisions with a bias toward shipping and iterative design.
