Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a technical manager for Engines Infrastructure labs. You will lead BE-IHIL, V&M, and CD labs, balancing hands-on engineering with people leadership to enable world-class engine testing.

You will set lab directions, drive design reviews, mentor engineers, collaborate with program leadership, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering on aggressive development timelines.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Knowledge of project management approaches and techniques
• Experience with aerospace control systems
• Experience leading small teams on fast-paced projects
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain the scope and definition of BE-IHIL, V&M, and CD Labs, aligning goals with Engines customer needs.
• Serve as technical authority for BE-IHIL, V&M and CD Labs, providing guidance on complex design challenges.
• Establish and maintain mechanical and electrical design standards, analysis methods, and best practices for the team.
• Review and approve critical design packages, drawings, lab policies, and test plans.
• Drive design reviews at milestones and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specs.
