Job summary

The Falkirk Mining Company is offering an engineering/surveying internship for students currently pursuing a two- or four-year degree. The program provides real-world experience in a high-energy, safe workplace with tasks across surveying, data processing, permitting, and design.

Starting salary ranges from $25.88 to $29.11 per hour, with housing stipends and a 401K option. The internship runs May 2027 through August 2027 or December 2027, depending on the track.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited engineering/surveying program in good academic standing.
• Completed at least 1 year of college in the related field and intends to complete the degree.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Surveying support: assist crew with office computations and fieldwork using GPS, drones, total station, or boat data.
• Process engineering/survey data to produce reports or studies.
• Assist in permitting and mining maps/design of roads, ponds, and special projects.
• Assist on groundwater, soil sampling, and geological programs.

These duties may include all or some of the following:Surveying – Assist the survey crew with office computations and fieldwork utilizing GPS, drones, robotic total station, or a remote-controlled boat.Computer – Work with various forms of engineering/surveying data to produce reports or studies.Permitting – Assist in the preparation of mining maps and permits.
