The Falkirk Mining Company is seeking an enthusiastic electrical intern for a 3- or 15-month program at a surface coal mine. The role emphasizes hands-on repair, inspection support, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across varying voltages, under rotating shift schedules.
Eligibility includes enrollment in an accredited electrical program with good academic standing and the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather. The program offers real-world training with safety-focused operations.
Employee Type: Intern (Trainee)This program is designed for students currently pursuing an associate or technical degree, who have completed a portion of their curriculum, and will be completing their program after the coop / intern experience. It is not designed for graduates. The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical controls, and troubleshooting with and understanding of electrical schematics.
3-month positions (May 2027 through August 2027)
15-month positions (May 2027 through August 2028)
Duties at the surface coal mine will be wide and varied, based on needs of the operation. These duties may include all or some of the following:

NOTE: This position requires working rotating shifts. The role involves approximately 20% indoor work and 80% outdoor work. Employees must be able to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, face shield, and respirator. Must also successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and the applicable Job Function Test (JFT).
