Job summary
Brightsmith is seeking a System Engineer to define technical requirements for a range of energy storage projects and drive engineering services across modeling, interconnection, and project development. This high-impact role ensures continuity of technical execution for advanced energy storage installations and reports into senior engineering leadership.
You will lead a portfolio of design engineering, vendor management, and commissioning activities, integrating battery, PCS, and LV/MV
Qualifications
- BS degree (minimum) in engineering or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience as an engineer or technical project manager.
- Experience with renewable energy (solar, wind) and industrial communication protocols.
- Understanding of energy storage system modeling, including battery systems as well as solar and wind power systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical requirements and specifications for energy storage projects
- Manage vendors for major equipment (battery, PCS), including specifications and qualification
- Drive engineering services for energy storage system modeling, interconnection applications, and project development
- Integrate battery, PCS, and other LV/MV switchgear equipment into the ESS
- Lead project design engineering, execution, and commissioning
