Job description

Our client is a fast-growing software and services provider in the global energy storage industry. Backed by decades of engineering and software expertise, they deliver a hardware-agnostic energy management platform that integrates with both traditional and renewable power sources. Their analytics and AI-driven tools help energy storage owners pursue a range of power market strategies, strengthen grid stability, and improve economic returns. Their technology runs on a large, proven fleet of utility-scale storage systems and serves leading developers, utilities, government agencies, and industrial companies in the U.S. and internationally.

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a System Engineer to define technical requirements and specifications for a range of energy storage projects. You'll drive engineering services for energy storage system modeling, interconnection applications, and project development, and you'll help shape the software configurations that make the company's energy management system perform in the field. This is a high-impact role that provides continuity of technical execution across some of the world's most advanced energy storage installations. The role reports into senior engineering leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Develop technical requirements and specifications for energy storage projects
  • Manage vendors for major equipment (battery, PCS), including specifications and qualification
  • Drive engineering services for energy storage system modeling, interconnection applications, and project development
  • Integrate battery, PCS, and other LV/MV switchgear equipment into the ESS
  • Lead project design engineering, execution, and commissioning
What You Bring
  • BS degree (minimum) in engineering or a related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience as an engineer or technical project manager
  • Full project lifecycle experience: design, construction, commissioning, and service
  • Experience with renewable energy (solar, wind, and battery) and industrial communication protocols
  • Understanding of energy storage system modeling, including battery systems as well as solar and wind power systems
  • Understanding of three-phase power system principles such as short-circuit protection, voltage/frequency variance, and grid stability
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on clear communication and delivering the right information to stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and a business process focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both formal and informal settings, with internal teams and customers
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%, based on commissioning schedules
