Electronics Design Engineer - Energy Storage & HV Systems

Job summary

Base is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to own the end-to-end design of energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and interconnect devices, from schematic to production.

You will work on high voltage designs, embedded systems, and hardware validation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, ensuring reliable, cost-efficient performance across modules and field deployments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Digital and analog circuit design, including high voltage circuits or power supply design.
• Printed circuit board design (Altium) and initial bring-up: debugging, soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with embedded firmware, microcontrollers and their peripherals, python scripting or similar.
• Familiarity with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies.
• Experience with power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs).
• Knowledge of electric motors, thermal design, and/or mechanical design.
• Experience with automotive networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
• Basic control theory, including importance of sensor bandwidths, filtering.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of energy storage systems (inverter, battery, Microgrid interconnect device) designs including specifications, architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring up, validation, and overseeing reliability and functional testing.
• Collaboration with cross functional teams (mechanical, firmware, test, reliability etc.) to see products through high volume manufacturing.
• Design and execute high voltage and high current validation of inverter, battery and BMS designs.
• Debug complex component interactions at the system level.
