Job summary
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support our Battery Energy Storage team. This role focuses on design of MV interconnections, PCS/BMS integration, protection schemes, and coordinating between internal teams and clients.
You will supervise electrical designers and ensure standards are met. The ideal candidate has 4–10 years in electrical design for energy storage or substations, strong communication, and proficiency with AutoCAD and power-system
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.
- 4–10 years design experience in electrical distribution, power generation, energy storage, or substation design.
- Understanding of battery storage components and related electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for commercial and utility-scale BESS projects within budget.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines for design integration.
- Develop single-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and protection drawings.
- Oversee protective device coordination, arc flash analysis, and relay settings.
- Support RFP responses, proposals, and change orders.
