Job summary
WSP USA is seeking a Fire & Life Safety Engineer specializing in Energy Storage Systems (ESS) for various US offices, including Atlanta, GA. You will direct ESS designs to meet evolving codes and host project coordination with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors across data centers and mission-critical facilities.
You will perform design reviews, hazard mitigation analyses, and build documentation to support permits, with opportunities to become a Certified Process Safety Professional
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of fire protection and life safety experience, ESS preferred.
- Proficient research skills with an analytical mindset.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities for engineering audiences.
Responsibilities
- Direct and execute design of building MEP systems for ESS installations (sprinklers, detection, ventilation, explosion control).
- Coordinate with FLS team, engineers, architects, and contractors to meet code requirements.
- Prepare technical analyses and permit documentation for ESS projects.
- Present fire risk assessments to authorities having jurisdiction.
- Support hazard mitigation analyses and resource planning as needed.
