WSP USA seeks a Fire & Life Safety Engineer specializing in Energy Storage Systems (ESS) fire protection to lead ESS design and code compliance for data center projects across the US. You will coordinate with the FLS team, resident ESS SME, and other MEP engineers to ensure safe, compliant installations.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA 855, UL9540/9540A, UL1778, UL924, and International Fire Code, with opportunities to advance toward a Certified Process Safety Professional through AiChE.

Competenze

• Related Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering; or equivalent years of experience.
• 1-3 years of fire protection and life safety experience, ESS experience preferred.
• Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
• Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineers and non-engineers.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software and spreadsheets.

Mansioni

• Direct and execute the design of building MEP systems for ESS installations (fire sprinkler, smoke detection, ventilation, explosion control).
• Apply knowledge of NFPA 855, UL9540/9540A, UL1778, UL924, IFC, and FM Global requirements to ESS projects.
• Prepare reports and documentation to support permits of electrochemical energy storage systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, engineers, and architects to implement design modifications.
• Present fire risk assessments to authorities having jurisdiction.
• Collaborate with teams to meet project objectives and client needs.
