Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering.
• 1–3 years of fire protection and life safety experience, ESS experience preferred.
• Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
• Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proficiency with technical writing and office software.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and execute the design of the building MEP systems for ESS installation.
• Coordinate with NFPA 855, UL9540/9540A, UL1778, UL924, IFC, FM Global requirements and hazard mitigation standards.
• Prepare permit documentation and analyze large-scale fire test data to justify design adequacy.
• Facilitate Hazard Mitigation Analyses as required by code or best practice.
• Present fire risk assessments to authorities having jurisdiction.
• Review drawings and implement design modifications with vendors and other engineers.
