Job summary

HomeWorks Energy (New England Smart Energy) seeks a Home Energy Specialist to perform Energize CT assessments in customers’ homes and model energy use with software. You will diagnose energy issues and recommend insulation, high-efficiency HVAC, and LED upgrades while building strong customer relationships.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and field-based work with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel required.
• BPI Certification a plus but not required.
• Previous customer service and sales experience preferred.
• Energize CT program knowledge a plus.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and time management skills.
• Must work independently as the role is primarily field based.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Outgoing, flexible, and personable demeanor.
• Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Energize CT home energy assessments.
• Model homes in energy efficiency software and generate comprehensive energy savings reports.
• Recommend energy-saving measures such as insulation, LED lighting, and high-efficiency HVAC systems.
• Initiate sale and secure service contracts.
• Provide exceptional customer service and educate homeowners on energy efficiency benefits.
• Use effective sales techniques to ensure customer satisfaction and generate referrals.
• Organize and guide customer through paperwork processes.
• Install energy-saving products during assessments.
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Continually improve product knowledge and sales skills through ongoing learning, including staying informed on the latest energy-saving options and technologies.
• Collaborate with internal divisions to cross-sell products and services.
• Perform additional tasks as required.
