Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist - Energy to support the Project Team in sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture on our Moses Lake area projects.

The role helps ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and contributes to a strong Project Safety Roadmap. The position reports to the Project Safety Manager or Area Safety Manager and involves field walks, safety orientations, incident investigations, and coaching on safe practices.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 Construction required. CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred). STS and STSC certification preferred, along with other safety certifications desired.
• 0-2 years of construction safety experience (electrical safety experience preferred).
• Driving License valid and driving record satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation of the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field walks and log observations.
• Support project-specific corrective action plans to address safety issues and concerns.
• Provide feedback to Safety leadership on observed areas for improvement and recognition.
• Assist with coaching employees on unsafe behaviors and recognizing safe practices.
• Assist with job site safety orientations for new employees joining the project.
• Assist with basic safety training, testing for all employees (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag-out, etc.).
• Support Project Leadership in completing incident investigations.
• Assist in facilitation of injury/illness cases.
• Raise potential compliance risks to Safety leadership.
• Attend assigned safety meetings daily and evaluate participation and effectiveness.
