Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP seeks a Business Development Manager to drive revenue for the Energy Industry team and related infrastructure initiatives, including data centers and P3s. You will partner with Practice Groups, Industry Teams, and firm leadership to execute strategic BD plans and budgets across multiple offices.

The role requires a strong background in B2B professional services or legal environments, with five+ years of experience, leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required – degree in marketing, communications, business or other relevant area preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a B2B professional services or legal setting required.
• Strong strategic planning and development skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to think critically.
• Self-starter with high energy and intellectual curiosity.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively work and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the firm.
• Strong negotiation skills and solution-orientation.
• Ability to travel as needed across the firm’s national footprint; some overnight travel required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio that includes the Energy Industry Team, associated practice groups and initiatives, including data centers and public-private partnerships, and key client teams.
• Collaborate with Practice Group and Industry Team leaders, the BDD, CBDO and other firm leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Work with Directors of Practice Services and Department Chairs on performance and new service offerings.
• Drive and/or administer support for Industry Team and Practice Group pursuits.
• Develop and implement business development strategies and tactics to support plan elements.
• Oversee the work of Business Development Associates and Coordinators.
• Define timelines and benchmarks for strategic opportunities and drive accountability.
• Prepare and strategy RFPs and pitches for new business.
• Collaborate across Marketing, Finance, Data & Innovation, and other departments on initiatives.
• Contribute to leadership functions, including process/resource development and meeting facilitation.
• Assist in budgets for assigned groups and initiatives.
• Develop insights on legal industry trends, client feedback, and outreach opportunities.
