Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center, joining the endoscopy team to assist with patient care, instrument handling, and room setup between cases. Reprocessing endoscopes and maintaining sterile technique are key responsibilities.

Multiple shifts are available, including 8-, 9-, and 10-hour options. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are offered to eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Surgical Technology program completion is required.
• Certification in CER within 18 months is preferred; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collects data on assigned patients as directed by the RN.
• Performs accurate documentation in patient records.
• Applies aseptic technique to maintain sterile environment.
• Communicates effectively with team members, patients, and families.
• Assists providers with procedures and treatments.
• Reprocesses endoscopes and sterilizes instruments.
• Cleans and stocks exam and procedure rooms.
• Obtains specimens and transports per hospital policy.
• Acts as a resource for departmental equipment.
