Job summary

Carle Health’s Digestive Health Center seeks a Surgical Technologist to join the endoscopy team, assisting with patient care, instrument handling, and room setup/teardown between cases. Reprocessing endoscopes and supporting department equipment are essential responsibilities.

Multiple shifts available, including 8-, 9-, and 10-hour options. Competitive compensation, sign-on bonus, relocation bonus, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and hand/eye coordination.
• Applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology.
• Demonstrates sterile technique and asepsis in procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization of supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by RN.
• Document accurately in patient records per standards.
• Maintain sterile environment and proper separation of clean/dirty areas.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Clean and sterilize instruments per policy and guidelines.
• Prepare procedure rooms and stock supplies.
• Obtain specimens and transport per hospital policy.
• Reprocess endoscopes and support equipment.
• Support inventory and restocking efforts.
