Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to provide clinical support in the Digestive Health Center and assist the endoscopy team with patient care, specimen collection, instrument handling, and room turnover. Reprocessing endoscopes and handling technical equipment are key duties.

Multiple shifts available (8/9/10 hours). Excellent communication and sterile technique are essential for effective perioperative care and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and infection control knowledge is required.
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures.
• Applied knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and microbiology.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by RN and performance standards.
• Document accurately in patient records per guidelines.
• Maintain aseptic environment and separate clean/dirty areas.
• Communicate effectively with team and patients.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Sterilize and reprocess instruments per policy.
• Stock exam and procedure rooms and obtain specimens.
