Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Digestive Health Center as part of the endoscopy team. You will assist with patient care, obtain specimens, assist physicians with instruments, and set up/teardown rooms between cases.

Reprocessing endoscopes and assisting with equipment while maintaining sterile technique are core duties. This role offers 8-, 9-, or 10-hour shifts and sign-on/relocation bonuses.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology certification required.
• Certification in Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 18 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organization and coordination of supplies and equipment.
• Collect data on assigned patients as directed by the RN.
• Document accurately in patient records.
• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis.
• Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
• Assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Sterilize and reprocess instruments per policy.
• Prepare and stock exam/procedure rooms.
• Obtain specimens and transport per policy.
• Support departmental equipment and inventory.
