Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a dedicated perioperative nurse to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care in the endoscopy suite and other perioperative areas. The role focuses on assessing patient status, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and ensuring instrument readiness and aseptic technique.

The ideal candidate has GI/OR or medical-surgical nursing experience, current nursing licensure, and certification requirements including BLS and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of GI, OR and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standings.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 6 months of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• Specialty certification in GI Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status throughout the perioperative episode of care.
• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care including protecting the patient from injury and ensuring device and equipment safety.
• Implement the plan of care with nursing care and monitoring to maintain tissue perfusion and patient stability.
• Maintain endoscopy instruments and accessories, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure sterility and infection control.
