Job summary

SCA Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Endoscopy to develop perioperative care plans and advocate for patients throughout their procedure and recovery. You will ensure safe medication administration, aseptic technique, and effective communications within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires GI/OR nursing experience, current RN licensure, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS if pediatric care is involved).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of GI, OR and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required if pediatric care is included.
• GI nursing specialty certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care by implementing.
• Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
• Demonstrating safe operation of equipment and reporting unsafe situations.
• Acting as the patient advocate and addressing safety concerns.
• Handling specimens according to policy and procedures.
• Adhering to universal precautions and site validation policies.
• Communicating patient status to the continuum of care.
• Administering medications using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Maintaining aseptic technique and infection prevention.
