Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is hiring a Registration Representative for the Memorial-MSOB location. The role provides patient registration, charge entry, discharge processing, POS collections and related services to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying insurance, scheduling, daily payment summaries, and maintaining accurate medical records while supporting clinical staff and inventory management as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• Experience: 6 months related experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; explain payment policy and insurance coverage.
• Discharge patients, document and tabulate charges and payments.
• Make and verify appointments and manage patient schedule.
• Process daily summary of payments, charges, balances, and edits.
• Handle inbound calls; provide information and forward inquiries as needed.
• Assist clinical staff with clerical work and patient preparation.
• Make deposits for daily transactions.
• Maintain medical records and filing.
• Order and stock supplies for smooth operation.
• Open mail and route to appropriate personnel.
• Process medical record requests with proper documentation.
• Cross-train across practices/departments as needed.
