Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Endocrinology clinic. You will greet patients and families, assist with visit preparation, collect co-pays, and help create a positive patient experience.

You will schedule visits, manage tests, handle billing duties, and maintain front desk operations while ensuring HIPAA compliance and professional communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in clerical/administrative duties in an office setting preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with scheduling systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families with prompt, caring responses.
• Perform front desk duties: visit prep, co-pay collection, patient tracking, and other duties.
• Schedule patient visits and diagnostic testing.
• Manage third-party payors and co-pay collections.
• Maintain front desk operations and complete routine office tasks (faxing, copying, filing, mailings, messages).
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs to staff.
• Ensure smooth office operations by prioritizing workload and deadlines.
• Keep waiting area and work area clean and organized.
• Provide clerical cross-coverage as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
