Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in the United States seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations and donor safety. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, applying EMT skills and nursing credentials to ensure high-quality donor care.

You will review donor eligibility, monitor responses, and assist with biosafety, vaccination programs, and incident management while adhering to regulatory guidance and BioLife policies.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport to emergency care facilities
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS
• Possible Pandemic Coordinator role as authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemics
