Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests. You will work under Center Manager guidance and comply with plasma collection regulations to ensure donor safety and center operations.

The role requires EMT licensure (B/A/I/P), CPR/AED, IV therapy knowledge, FDA training, and 2 years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and nursing program credentialing.
• EMT licensure in state with EMT-B/A/I/P credentials.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
