Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, assess reactions, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring medical issues are managed within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program.
• Licensed or certified EMT-B / EMT-A / EMT-I / EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN as applicable in the state of responsibilities.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and screening criteria.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance; assist with investigations as needed.
