Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Lafayette, LA seeks a Medical Support Specialist to back plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor events, review tests, and notify donors of results, under medical and EHS guidance.

The role emphasizes patient safety, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with the Center Manager and Center Physician. Prior clinical experience is valued; compensation reflects an hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Must hold active state licensure in the role to be assigned.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of donor safety and adherence to SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma and manage donor adverse events.
• Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
• Provide center-level medical support under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.
• Evaluate donor reactions and coordinate donor safety procedures per SOPs.
• Support vaccination programs for employees (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) as applicable.
• Assist with environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidance and incident management.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and Medical Affairs.
