Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Janesville, WI, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to assess donor eligibility and support safe plasma collection. You will evaluate donor reactions, review lab results, and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical guidance.

You will participate in vaccination programs, health and safety procedures, and incident management, with a focus on compliant, compassionate donor care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑B, EMT‑A, EMT‑I, EMT‑P, LPN/LVN, RN.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) at the facility per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with standing orders and donor transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemic threats.
