Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, monitor safety, and review lab results to support plasma donation operations in Milwaukee.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, ensuring adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements while supporting EHS and vaccination programs. A clinical background with EMT licenses and RN/LPN options is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold current EMT licensure in the state of responsibility: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I or EMT-P.
• Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
• Current CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy where applicable.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and donor history.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for ineligible findings or medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) for employees.
• Manage occupational health incidents with EHS guidance; participate in pandemic response if authorized.
