Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda company, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to help ensure safe plasma collection and donor care in a Wisconsin facility. The role involves eligibility checks, adverse event management, lab result review, and communication with donors under physician guidance.

Requirements include state-licensed nursing or EMT credentials, CPR/AED certification, and prior clinical experience. Training and compliance with FDA procedures are required.

Qualifications

• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Current state licensure in EMT, nursing, or paramedic roles as applicable.
• CPR and AED certification maintained.
• Satisfy state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Fosters compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, medical history, and screening tests.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist investigations.
