Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under the supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

This role requires EMT or nursing licensure and CPR/AED certification. The position includes medical oversight, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with Medical Affairs.

Qualifications

• EMT-B/A/I/P certification required and state licensure where duties are assigned.
• Current CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
• Fulfill FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, and testing review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for concerning findings.
• Support vaccination programs for employees (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu).
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
