Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Responsibilities include handling donor reactions, coordinating with medical staff, and supporting vaccination programs and EHS. Requires state licensure (EMT/RN/LPN/LVN), CPR/AED, and 2+ years hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program with state requirements.
• Current EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, RN/LPN/LVN license as applicable.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and screening.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate with Center Physician for emergencies.
• Refer medical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
