Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking Medical Support Specialists to determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and assist in the plasma collection process. The role involves clinical assessments, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with Center Physicians.

You will support vaccination programs, help manage incidents, and follow environmental health and safety guidance, reporting to the Center Manager.

Qualifications

• EMT certifications required (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P) and state licensure.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS.
