Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks Medical Support Specialists to assess donor eligibility, manage donor safety, and review test results in a fast-paced plasma donation center.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and BioLife policies to ensure high-quality plasma collection and donor care. This role emphasizes clinical assessment, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with EHS for further evaluation.
• Possibly serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
