Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility and manage donor safety at the Webster, TX center. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma center operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality donor care.

The role leverages EMT clinical skills, with responsibilities including adverse event management, laboratory test result review, and cross-functional collaboration for a safe, efficient donation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed/certified EMT (EMT-B/A/I/P) or nursing license (LPN/LVN/RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy where applicable.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu when applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER and EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
