Qualifications

• Valid EMT license in the state of responsibilities
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Familiarity with regulations in plasma collection or manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage emergencies with center physician standing orders and donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and advise on occupational health/EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics.
