Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in the United States (TX Burleson) is seeking an EMT- or nursing-credentialed Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor safety and support the plasma donation process.

You will determine donor eligibility, monitor reactions, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes under medical guidance, while supporting environmental health and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Licensed EMT or nursing licensure as applicable in the state of assignment
• Current CPR and AED certification
• FDA BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed or required
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and coordinate with occupational health/ER.
• Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator as authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
