Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Mount Juliet, TN seeks a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes. The role operates under Center Manager guidance and Center Physician medical oversight.

Ideal candidates have EMT licensure (B/A/I/P or RN/LPN) with CPR/AED, IV therapy basics, and FDA training; plus at least two years in a clinical/hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently licensed or certified as EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• CPR and AED certifications current.
• State requirements for basic IV therapy fulfilled.
• FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history and physical examination.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
