Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking an Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to ensure donor safety and guide the donation process. You will use your clinical assessment and patient care skills to determine eligibility, monitor adverse events, and review lab results in a regulated plasma center setting.

You will work under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and federal/state requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified EMT in the relevant state and CPR/AED certified.
• Clinical assessment and patient care experience to ensure donor safety.
• Familiarity with plasma donation regulations and basic medical guidance.
• Ability to follow SOPs for donor eligibility, adverse events, and testing results.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and testing review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies following SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist investigations.
