Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking an Medical Support Specialist to assess donor eligibility, monitor safety, and support donor care in a plasma center. You will determine suitability for donation, review test results, and follow SOPs for medical situations under supervision of the Center Physician and Center Manager.

Applicants should have EMT licensure, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate considered.
• Licensed in EMT categories (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P) as applicable by state.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, and review SPE.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage incidents per EHS guidance and assist with investigations when needed.
• Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
