Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

The role requires licensure (EMT/RN/LPN), CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting, with familiarity of plasma collection regulations. A focus on safety and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus nursing program and state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN; CPR and AED
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactory completion of FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including consent, education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate medical emergencies with the Center Physician.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues, donor safety or eligibility.
• Support vaccination programs for employees (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations within the local community.
