Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to help determine donor eligibility and manage safety during plasma donation. You will review test results and adverse events under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, ensuring regulatory compliance and donor care.

The role requires EMT licensure (EMT-B/ETM-A/EMT-I/EMT-P), CPR/AED certification, and at least two years of clinical experience, with FDA-mandated BioLife training provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, or EMT-P licensure and be licensed or certified in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certifications.
• At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate as applicable.
• FDA-mandated BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history, physical examination, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and Center Physician orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation with occupational health/EHS guidance.
• May serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
