Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist with EMT credentials to ensure donor safety and eligibility throughout the plasma donation process. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to follow SOPs, manage adverse events, and review lab results, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality donor care.

The role requires state licensure as EMT or nursing credentials, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies and transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator if authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
