Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support donor safety and plasma center operations. You will assess donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and coordinate with physicians for medical issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program
• Current EMT or nursing license in the responsibility state (EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN)
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA training
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, consent, medical history, exam, testing, and review SPE
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange medical emergency transport if needed
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for significant findings or guidance
• Support vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs
