Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations through donor eligibility assessment and safety oversight. You will review medical histories, perform screenings, and help ensure high standards of donor care in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, collaboration with the Center Manager and Center Physician, and ongoing participation in EHS guidelines to maintain donor and staff safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold active EMT license or RN/LPN per state requirements.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and manage medical emergencies following SOPs and Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees and assist with safety programs.
