Job summary

University Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medical Services Supervisor to oversee the EMS system’s daily operations, provide leadership to EMS personnel, and ensure compliance with policies. Responsibilities include incident response, timely documentation, and delivery of high-quality pre-hospital BLS care in all weather conditions.

The role requires several years of EMS experience, driving credentials, and active EMT/Paramedic/MMICN credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years EMS experience.
• Minimum two (2) years EMS driving experience with good driving record.
• Valid NJ driver’s license or equivalent for the region.
• Ability to pass medical evaluation and respirator fit test.
• Ability to wear N95 respirator per PEOSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure orderly and efficient EMS system operation.
• Respond to supervisory incidents for problem solving and decisions.
• Complete required reports accurately and timely.
• Enforce EMS policies, procedures and standards.
• Observe, monitor and evaluate employee performance.
• Provide pre-hospital BLS care in all weather conditions.
• Lead and direct EMS personnel.
• Meet or exceed patient/customer expectations across populations.
• Use age- and population-appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Perform additional duties to support EMS operations.
• Represent University Hospital and EMS professionally.
