Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center seeks an EMS Operations Specialist to support critical calls and nonemergent situations, mentor paramedics, and lead on-scene EMS management. The role acts as a stand-in supervisor when needed and requires strong leadership and field training skills.

Responsibilities include directing personnel at major responses, training new paramedics, ensuring QA measures, and coordinating with partner agencies to maintain operational readiness and high standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years as Lead Paramedic and Preceptor (fleet management excluded).
  • Maintain DOT medical requirements and NM Paramedic License (fleet management excluded).
  • ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Complete an approved Leadership Development Course.
  • Obtain ICS 300 and 400 within one year; IC 100/200/700/800 as well.

Responsibilities

  • Direct EMS personnel and equipment at major responses in the absence of the EMS Operations Supervisor.
  • Handle grievances and maintain discipline among officers and medics.
  • Assign personnel and equipment to duties per service needs.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and directing operations for readiness.
  • Ensure scheduling for public relations and staffing for events is maintained.
  • Coordinate with area public safety agencies and the public.
  • Provide on-scene EMS management and incident command at major incidents.
