County Emergency Communications seeks an Emergency Medical Dispatcher to handle medical emergency calls, verify locations, and coordinate EMS resources. You will follow approved dispatch protocols and provide protocol-based guidance to callers.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and CPR; EMD certification may be required depending on the vacancy. This role may involve overnight and rotating shifts per assignment.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the approved medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel.
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities.
