County Emergency Communications seeks an Emergency Medical Dispatcher to handle urgent medical calls, verify locations and details, and determine priorities using approved protocols. You will coordinate responders and provide instruction as required.

This role may require CPR certification and related coursework, with certain postings requesting EMD credentials. Training and shifts can include evenings or weekends depending on the agency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent is commonly required.
• CPR certification and additional coursework may be required.
• EMD certification or equivalent is preferred but not universal.

Responsabilités

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition.
• Determine response priority through the medical dispatch system.
• Coordinate ambulance resources when assigned.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
